Using wireless router for wired only application?

I have a wireless router on hand that I would like to use for a wired application only. It will be installed in a shielded structured wiring cabinet. I have two wireless access points, I will hard wire to the router. The question is if I uncheck the "enable wireless radio box" on the router web page, does it actually power down and disable the radio or just disconnect the radio from the network while allowing the radio to still broadcast a signal?

It is possible it depends on the router, but in general, it powers down the radio. IE no radio emissions from it.

After uncheck of enable wireless radio, a WiFi phone or laptop should no longer detect the SSID for those access points, nor be able to associate to them, assuming there remain no other routers or APs using that combination of SSID and encryption key.

If the same SSID is coming from, say, a WiFi router, but uses a different encryption key than the disabled APs, then the client will associate but cannot pass traffic, cannot use DHCP, etc.

When you "uncheck" the box, the radio will turn off.
