Hi guys. So i just subscribed to vpn service and i ran wireshark to check if traffic is being encrypted. Wireshark is installed on my pc (the client), router is my vpn server and traffic source is default ip of router.
I see clear text webpage addressed in the capture and tech is told me this:

"your router is handling encryption, not your PC.
Running Wireshark on PC is just irrelevant in context. "

To me it seems encryption is not working as i see clear text in wireshark. Am i correct here?
I am attaching screenshot.

Encryption would be between the router (VPN Client) and your VPN service provider. If you were running Wireshark on the WAN side you'd see the traffic encrypted. The router is decrypting the traffic and then passing along to the PC.

Thanks brother. That makes sense. I would have to get a hub and stick it in front of the router then run a laptop on static ip on hub...hmmm
