Vista & RT-AC52U

My laptop with Vista OS worked fine with RT-N53. Then I bought a RT-AC52U. Though it is shown both local and internet are connected, very often the web pages cannot be downloaded (page not found), and the connection is painfully slow. I did winsock and other stuff to no avail. (My other laptop with XP OS has not trouble with RT-AC52U.) Please help. Thank you in advance.

Just wondering if it's probably time to move forward past WinXP/Vista - not much WiFI adapter support these days as MS has pretty much moved forward with Win7/10 (we'll excuse them for the 8.x mess).
