Help!
About two months ago, I was getting about 30 Mbps up/down. This past week, however, I noticed that it slowed down considerably. On the speedtest, I'm only getting about 9.8 Mpbs up/down.
After two days with Cox trying to figure out my cable modem/router (Motorola sbg6580), and hours of checking out settings and trying new firmware, I discovered that my WAN seems to be stuck on 10 Full Duplex--which explains so much.
I had been running Merlin's firmware (whatever was fresh from March). No changes to my network--just noticed slower speeds. When my switch is connected straight to my SBG6580, I am getting the fast speeds again.
After trying the latest Merlin firmware, going back to stock latest Asus firmware, then back to Merlin's firmware--I am noticing that the speeds are still slow when I connect my switch back to the Asus router (which is then connected back to the SBG6580).
Any idea?
I have not made any hardware changes leading up to the slow down. I just noticed that it was really slow.
Do you think I have a hardware issue? I have reset every component in my network multiple times thinking that would help. I do notice that if I remain on the RT-N66U's Sysinfo page (on Merlin's firmware), as the whole system tries to reconnect to the Motorola, the WAN blips "100 Full Duplex", then says "Down" for a few seconds, then reappears at "10 Full Duplex."
