The site in question is ecowitt.net (or .com) that I have used for years. A few days ago my ecowitt app, showing temperature and soil moisture devices, simply stopped working and would only show a blank screen. After rebooting my phone, econett hub, routers (ASUS AC86U) I came to the (wrong) conclusion the problem must be at the ecowitt site however I decided to try to access the site via NordVPN app on my PC and much to my surprise it worked. The minute I disconnected the VPN I was no longer able to connect to ecowitt. I have a second router (TP-Link AX7800) connected on a separate WAN (but same ISP) and it too failed to connect unless I utlized NordVPN configured on this router. I also tried connecting with my iPhone via cell data with the phones wifi off. It worked. Once I re-enabled wifi it stopped working.

So, it appears that I can not get to the ecowitt site using my ISP. What can I make of this? Is my ISP blocking the site or is ecowitt blocking my IP/ISP? It would be easy to suggest the problem is with the router but I have tried 2 separate routes on 2 WANs. I need to get this working without VPN and am lost what I can do or look into to fix this problem.

I can't find any dns servers for econett.net so perhaps that domain is dead, or just doesn't exist.
Having checked everything about econett.com (dns, certs, blacklist) and nothing out of the ordinary for the domain.
However, it's common for ISPs to block whole blocks of sites hosted by ovh because of the number of dodgy sites they host. I'd assume that would be the case here.

Ugh. Is my face red. I always get Econet and ecowitt mixed up. Two different things.
The site is ecowitt.net NOT econet

Have you tried different DNS servers on your routers? Cloudflare, Google DNS? It might be just blocked on the DNS side only.

Ecowitt.net is hosted in China. I had to use a VPN to get through myself. Seems both our ISPs may be blocking it.
