What is best 4G LTE dongle on latest Merlin FW?

I am using an Asus RT N66U and the latest Merlin fw with a VPN but cannot get port 8000 to open to outside due to double NAT so was looking to use a 4G LTE USB dongle. Which one will work with the least trouble?

To get port forwards to work when double NATed you probably need to double port forward.

On your primary WAN facing router forward the port to the WAN IP that you assigned to your second router. If your primary router is 192.168.1.1 then the static WAN IP assigned to your secondary router could be 192.168.1.2. Then if you will have to port forward again on the secondary router to the static LAN IP of the device where port 8000 resides. This will be in the subnet of the second router.

I am using a Huawei B593 4G LTE router but it makes the whole thing very complicated with two routers.

As I am using a VPN tunnel on the LAN I still don't really understand why I need to port forward at all.
