So after a long struggle i finally realized why I think my new NAS isn't connecting...
I think its because I don't have a router. Right now I have my roadrunner box that connects to the coax cable and a 8 port switch that it runs to.
I don't really need wireless, but will buy a wireless router if it offers the best performance that i'm looking for.
I found the Bubba Two just today and was wondering how the router performance might be on this NAS. Since i already have a Qnap 219P I might not need another NAS, but if the router performance is as good or better than the DIR-685 I would be happy to spend the money. I was also considering an extra hard drive onto which i would backup the 219P so the Bubba Two would prove useful in this regard, plus with the router functionality i'd get two birds with one stone. I read in a review that the Bubba Two might not work with OSX Time Machine easily, which could be a problem, but maybe not if all I use it for is as a backup for the QNAP?
I also need at least 8 LAN ports, so I wondering if maybe something like a Cisco router/switch like this one (http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductReview.aspx?Item=N82E16833124127) might be a good option?
Any help would be greatly appreciated! 8)
