What tool can i use to test my throughput of the router?

Do you guys know a tool I can use to test my computers maximum throughput thru my router?

Websites like speedtest.net is just for one way tests, up or down, not both at the same time

Macports is a site that offers Linux and similar software, compiled and packaged for macOS. Yes, it's trustworthy. Since macOS is a UNIX system, and Linux is part of that family too, it isn't that difficult to compile and package for macOS. It does not have everything, but you can find most GNU software (binutils, Bash, dc, etc) in there and other things from UNIX-like systems like FreeBSD, OpenBSD, etc.

make sure you use multiple streams switch so you can saturate the link .

I work with Linux only thus far (in some months I'll be getting a MacBook Air to play with macOS) so I can't live without Bash, grep, sed, ls, cat, mv, rm, etcetera. I'd install coreutils, binutils, sed, openssh, ffmpeg, rsync, etc if I was you. I can't live without these command-line programs. But I don't know what your needs are so can't really recommend much.
