Which one (rt-ac68u or ac88u) have the widest coverage in 2.4ghz ?

I have read a lot and have done some research in finding a new router that can replace my current weak coverage tplink WDR4300 router. I know the coverage of 5 ghz band is about the same from ac1900 up to ac5300. how about the 2.4ghz? Does the ac88u really hv wider coverage in both band compare to ac68u?

in my testing the answer is yes , i have a wemo at about 25 meters and a few walls away from my router location

the rt-ac68u wouldnt connect to the wemo switch

the rt-ac88u does connect and stays connected

the wemo is 2.4 gig

or if you dont need the 8 lan ports the rt-ac3100 is the same and cheaper
