I was wondering if anybody knows WHY Asus chose port 8443 for HTTPS router administration?
I didn't like that, and tried to change it to 443, but it said it conflicted with some cloud storage thing (AiCloud, I guess). Since I don't use that, I changed AiCloud to use a different port, then changed the admin port to 443.
I tried to change the AiCloud port to 8443, but it refused, saying "This port is for [Port of Web Access from WAN(HTTPS)]." (I'm using the Merlin firmware, so I don't know if this message is only shown for that firmware or in the stock firmware as well).
So even if you change the admin port to 443, it still appears hard-coded that the AiCloud code thinks it can't use port 8443.
Does anyone know why they set things up this way? Seems kind of stupid.
