Windows 10 Wifi completely knocks out AC5300 Router

jdturneriii

New Around Here
I have tried many things to get a new laptop on my RT-AC5300 wireless. The router is rock solid until a Yoga 910 connects via wireless and BAM: both the Cable Modem and Router become unusable. The Admin UI is not reachable, and a simple reboot will not clear the problem. I have had to do a factory reset 3 times now on the router.

I thought it was the Qualcomm WIFI card so I replace that. Same issue.

I have turned off Wifi Sense and Hotspot 2.0 options as well.

I have reset the network adapter, flushed DNS, flushed ARP, etc. etc.

I have updated drivers, searched for similar problems and get nothing.

The WIRED connection on the new Yoga works fine.

Any ideas??

**UPDATE**

I went DefCon 1 on my computer and did a complete reset to factory specs. WIFI to my AC5300 worked fine until I connected to a USB-C Dock. That process installed the dock drivers. Disconnecting from that back to WIFI took down the router to the point that I had to put it in rescue mode to get it back running.

This is beyond frustrating.

Had a similar issue with a desktop. Replaced 5 new routers in a month! Turned out to be an HDMI graphics card. Switched to a VGA cable to the monitor and the problem went away. Still using the graphics card for three years. Not saying this is your problem but to look for other point of interference.

Turns out that I had been looking @ the wrong piece of hardware. I thought it was the PC or how the PC interacted with the router. The only piece of hardware that I DIDN'T look at (until today) was the USB-C Dock. With the PC disconnected from both WIFI and the Dock, and the Dock still powered up, it froze my router until I unplugged the ethernet cable.

I configured my system to turn off the power source to the Dock when I remove the PC from the USB-C cable and have had NO issues since.

What a strange one!
