windows 7 issue

I have a issue I hope you can help with. I have a asus router flashed with merlin. Ever since I installed windows 7 on my laptop Im not able to download some device drivers, or do a windows update. Half way through the download I get a message telling me the server disconnected. I bypass the router and I can download all I want but I cant while connected to my router. Do you know of any bugs like this?
