Wireless locks up n66u latest Merlin

Occasional Visitor
I've two laptops that are brought to my place that lock my Wi-Fi. I've checked them both and all network settings, ip etc, are Windows default.

Anything wired to network continues to perform but all Wi-Fi devices remain connected but lose data. If the offending laptop is disconnected WiFi connectivity returns with a reboot.

Can't see anything obvious in logs.

Bit lost. Any ideas please?

Dave

Try forgetting and re-associating the router with those systems.

Or, try setting a different SSID.

What drivers do the laptops use? What O/S? Download the latest available, uninstall the wireless software, reboot, uninstall the wireless hardware (including to tick the 'uninstall driver software for this device') and reboot once more.

Now install the newest drivers you had found before you uninstalled your wifi software and hardware.

Does this fix the issue?

Been through suggestions rigidly but no success. It's very strange. Next step I think is to swap in another router.

Thanks,

Dave

Hardware issues then.

Others would be wise to consider this possibility when their brand new router seems to be unique with the problems they exhibit.

Thank you for the feedback on your solution.
