Wireless Mode setting questions

New Around Here
I could use a little help understanding a couple of the wireless mode settings (Wireless > General page) for my RT-66NU.

I understand that Auto allows b/g/n connections and N Only allows only n connections.

Does Legacy limit connections to b/g only? Or to b/g/n with only g speeds?

Also, why would I tick the box for b/g Protection?

The tool tips I get when I click on Wireless Mode are less than helpful in answering these questions. (Full disclosure: I'm not very wireless saavy, as if you couldn't have guessed.)

Thanks!

Auto is where you want this setting to be.

It allows for the best performance no matter which device(s) are connected.

Setting it to anything other than Auto usually decreases performance even when using devices that are matched to the settings.

Your understanding of the settings is basically correct. But for best results, don't change them.
