My laptop has a 802.11ac NIC, which get stressed when I start moving around 800 MB tarballs. Plus the improved response when using RDesktop with my desktop.
And I much prefer running my OpenVPN server on the router than on my NAS, where there is no isolation between the VPN tunnel and the network shares. If my router were to get compromised, you'd still need login credentials to access my NAS's data (or my desktop itself).
This forum is the worst place for this really, as most users here are actual advanced users. The mom-and-dad that sticks to Facebook and outlook.com does not visit these forums.
