YazDHCP YazDHCP v1.2.0 [2025-Oct-12] - Feature expansion of DHCP assignments (increasing limit on the number of DHCP reservations)

But the latest version dienst work. No reservation is given. Manual assignment is on and no guest adresses are setup. I already uninstalled everything and setup it again.
Couple of suggestions. Check the router's System Log to see if there are DNSMasq and or YazDHCP errors or issues.
Post a readable screen shot of your YazDHCP settings.
Which reservations, main LAN clients or WiFi clients or Guest Network clients, are not being handed out to clients? If it is mobile device clients, check that device's settings to ensure MAC randomization isn't enabled.

Hi,

I have only my NAS with a static IP aswell as all other have a reservation with YazDHCP. There are no Mac randomizers to be anonymous. All devices use there hardware base real mac-adress.

E.g. And recognizable you can se my second AX88U, a P1 meter, and my tado.

I've search ed for some clear issues but I dont recognized them for dnsmasq but I see for YazDHCP.

@Reef2009, If you can post a screen shot of your Manually Assigned IP addresses in the DHCP scope.

YazDHCP is indicating multiple names errors per your screen shots in the YazDHCP's /jffs/addons/YazDHCP.d/.staticlist file. If possible can you access that file and post it here or at the very least check that file for duplicate/multiple name entries per line.
An example of how the .staticlist entry should look (MAC address, IP Address, Host Name):
Code:
set:lan,AA:BB:CC:DD:EE:FF,set:AA:BB:CC:DD:EE:FF,192.168.1.13,Printer
set:lan,GG:HH:II:JJ:KK:LL,set:GG:HH:II:JJ:KK:LL,192.168.1.15,SmartTV
set:lan,MM:NN:OO:PP:QQ:RR,set:MM:NN:OO:PP:QQ:RR,192.168.1.29,DesktopComputer

As far as I can see everything is normal.

Cpuld there be a change in naming requrements?

Hopefully @Martinski may be able to answer such a question. But one difference I do see is your nano screen capture shows the text "set:lan br1," where as mine (an RT-AX86U Pro with 3006.102.5 firmware just has "set:lan,". Mine doesn't have the "br1" like yours does. Not sure if there is a difference due to the different firmware being used.

Thnx @bennor Interesting, I wonder if @Martinski knows.

I seem to have the same issue as Reef2009's Post above. I will try to describe what happened.

I was running Merlin ver: 3004.388.9_2 on a GT-AX11000
Running YazDHCP 1.1.0
as well as other addons

I upgraded to YasDHCP version 1.2.0 via amtm(ssh)
then upgraded to Merlin ver: 3004.388.10 via web interface

After the reboot(I rebooted because of the router firmware upgrade) the router no longer was assigning static IPs. Everything was in my DHCP range of 192.168.63.100 - 192.168.63.254

I then used BACKUPMON(thank GOD for this addon) to restore to 3004.388.9_2 from the previous day

This reverted YazDHCP to 1.1.0 and everything was perfect.

I was not sure where the issue was so I just upgraded YasDHCP to 1.2.0 and rebooted and I lost all my Static DHCP assignments.
The list of addresses was still there but it is as if they were ignored.
I tried to edit a static assignment to "reinsert" it into the database and that didnt work. I cannot make YasDHCP create Static assignment.

Attached is the System Log( I believe ) - I removed any MACs and External IPs and Other sensetive data was changed to protect the innocent!!!

What else would you want??

Thanks!!!

This seems exactly like what happened to me. Only I haven't been able to restore a backup to test where the problem is.

Does this work with YazFi for assigning static guest IP’s?
Good question. Did a very quick and dirty test on a RT-AC68U running 386.14_2 and the YazDHCP v1.2.0's Allow Guest Network Client Assignments enabled seemed to work at setting YazFi v4.4.8 manual IP addresses, at least for one YazFi guest network and one mobile phone. This was by no means an exhaustive test, rather something thrown together to test one phone. See attached images. Best I can suggest is give it a try and see if it works.

Standard reminder about YazFi, it does not extend to AiMesh nodes. YazFi is main router only.

For those having trouble with the latest version of YazDHCP v1.2.0 (@peepsnet1 & @Reef2009 & @CaptainSTX). Make sure to read the v1.2.0 release information @Martinski posted on post #76: https://www.snbforums.com/threads/yazdhcp-v1-2-0-2025-oct-12-feature-expansion-of-dhcp-assignments-increasing-limit-on-the-number-of-dhcp-reservations.94827/page-4#post-971788
And post #77: https://www.snbforums.com/threads/y...of-dhcp-reservations.94827/page-4#post-971789
Pay particular attention to the Note section in the second post/second link. And pay attention to the following too since failure to remove existing IP reservations in custom files (including those for YazFi) may cause a conflict with YazDHCP v1.2.0
Also, it's very important to make sure you remove all IP address reservations from your custom files that have been transferred to YazDHCP to prevent dnsmasq from getting duplicate entries/directives, which is bound to cause some issues when restarting the dnsmasq process.

One other note. It also may help, for those having issues with YazDHCP v1.2.0 to indicate if they were previously using any custom scripting files like the following to store manual IP reservations (including those manual reservations for YazFi).
Code:
/jffs/scripts/dnsmasq-sdn.postconf
/jffs/configs/dnsmasq-INDEX.conf.add
/jffs/scripts/dnsmasq.postconf

I have never used YazFi but just a reminder that if you’ve made (and forgotten) dnsmasq-x.conf.add OR dnsmasq-sdn.postconf files, these will be lurking in /jffs/configs/ and /jffs/scripts/ respectively.

Maybe @bennor can expand on where YazFi files reside.

Also; remove any Manual Assignments from your GNP profiles (the x/32 number of entries).

I went through all that... I didnt have any custom stuff...
That was talking about a fresh install... I was upgrading from a previous version!!

Ill just backup the Static addressed with the GUI CSV option and remove and reinstall a fresh YasDHCP 1.2.0 and report...

Report!!!

Didn't work!!!

I had a CSV backup of ll my Static IP reservations.
Uninstalled YasDHCP and removed all data

Rebooted Router

Reinstalled YasDHCP as a fresh install.
Uploaded CSV
Verified it popupated the reservations below on the GUI page.
Applied the changed with the "Apply" button on the bottom of the DHCP Server GUI page
Rebooted the Router!!
And...
Still no change. All my clients are getting the pool DHCP IPs

Could there be some issue with YasDHCP and AdGuard Home???

Would you be willing to try something to test the setup?

Try this: delete dhcp_list and custom_client list from /jffs/nvram/, check no manual assignments in GNP, install YazDHCP as new (you have backups anyway for 1.1.0), and manually add one main and one from each guest?

If that works and you get the colours and reservations, export the file and see what the syntax looks like?

Add back your entries to the new file manually, save and import? At this point it might be worth a shot?

I looked in /jffs/nvram

Those 2 files are 0 size or do not exist.

I will report back.

Fresh 1.2.0 install...
No Static reservations...
Create one Main and one Guest and see if they take!!

Give me a sec...

Ok Here is what is happening

Some progress... Only the Device on one of my Guest networks got a Reserved Address!!!!!!!!

Uninstalled 1.2.0 and deleted all files the uninstall script suggested.
Reboot...
Confirmed there were no reservations in DHCP Server Page GUI
Used AMTM to install YasDHCP 1.2.0
Choose not to import anythng from existing files.
Rebooted...
Went to the new YasDHCP DHCP Server page and made sure both Manual Assignments and Guest Network Assignments were ON...
Added 3 Reservations.
Main network IP Range: 192.168.0.1 - 192.168.63.254
Guest 1 IP Range: 192.168.65.1 - 192.168.56.254
Guest 2 IP Range: 192.168.66.1 - 192.168.66.254
Guest 3 IP Range: 192.168.67.1 - 192.168.67.254

Reservations I added:
1) I added my PC I am working on right now. Using its MAC address and choose IP 192.168.3.10
2) My Cell Phone: Used its MAC(MAC spoofing is turned off and the phone MAC is always used) and IP 192.168.65.20
3) A Wyze Plug in the house: Used its MAC and the IP 192.168.67.200

AND HERE IS THE BIG REVEAL

1760746665059.png

1760747554079.png

The devices are added and colored correctly but ONLY THE WYZE DEVICE GOT ITS STATIC IP... It previously picked up 192.168.67.220 from DHCP

Still THE OTHER 2 DEVICES are pulling from 192.168.63.XXX

There is a warning at the top of the page talking about a conflict with a VPN Server but it was not turned on!
I change the IP ranve of that server to deconflict but the warning is still there

Here are the CURRENT Settings...
VPN Server 1 remains ON while server 2 is now OFF

So Fun Stuff

Wait one more post... I reached the attach limit for this post...
