New Around Here
I just installed my new router yesterday with a eth back haul between the main device and the secondary. Yesterday after changing a couple of settings and looking around for a bit I could no longer access the web GUI or access via the iOS app. I tried restarting but that did not work. I ended up resetting via the reset button. I reconfigured and had been accessing things fine. Then this morning at some point the GUI and access via the app were gone again. I tried restarting the router but that did nothing. I am holding out doing another reset. Any ideas? The routers both still seem to be functioning fine i just cannot reach them to make any changes to the settings. Internet is still working fine. Also, both times the loss of access was not preceded by a change in settings. Every time any settings were changed I had not issue accessing the GUI. The problem seemed to have popped up independent of that. Also, via the GUI update function it should be running the latest firmware.

I just received this very disappointing response from Asus support. The link is not even to my router. Very frustrating. I am at a loss how these are "troubleshooting steps" given that they are merely the steps for setting up a router.

I do apologize for the inconvenience but you need to factory reset again the router then try to perform the troubleshooting steps on the link below :

How to use the QIS (Quick Internet Setup) to set up PPPoE ? (ASUSWRT)

Hi,
I have the exact same problem.
After setup everything is working but i cannot access the management , not via http or the assus app.

Did you managed to fix this issue ?

Thanks

I had the same problem where I couldn't use the Web-GUI locally or the app. I connected remotely and saw that I changed the Authentication Method under Local Access Config to HTTPS from BOTH, When I set it back to both I was able to connect locally.

WEB-GUI / Administration / System Tab / Local Access Control / Authentication Method / BOTH

I've seen this as a potential issues, but that did not solve the issue in my case.

Hi,
I had the same issue, After couple days of work i could not access the management GUI.
It was very frustrating to make all the configurations from zero. But after couple days of research i found a solution (that worked for me)
the problem is that somehow the web page certificate is stack (even if you don't use https) and the httpd server on the router fails to start.

The first thing you need to do is to enable SSH access (if you haven't done that before i think you have to make factory default)
Access the router with SSH (you can use free app like putty)
1. check if the router is listening to http port 80 by command "netstat -an |grep 80"
you should see line "tcp 0 0 127.0.0.1:80 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN "
2. you probably wont see that if you re unable to access the gui, then write those commands:
nvram set https_crt_save=0
nvram commit
service restart_httpd

this fixed the problem for me.
