Even though I recently purchased a pair of XT8 I don’t see it ever having Merlin support. They are just not popular enough and besides, I do not envision Merlin obtaining one for development. I like mine but they are in AP mode behind a AC86U.

The XT8 has Merlin-fork support as of earlier this year (https://gnuton.github.io/asuswrt-merlin.ng/). Starting to weigh getting a few as I like the combo of Asus / Merlin-fork
