Simple share naming?

One thing I did notice after the upgrade to .26 is that I lost my usb drive. I found the problem, it had mounted as /mnt/sda1 where it had mounted as /mnt/My_Passport before the upgrade

Do you still have the "Simpler share naming" option set to "yes" on the "Usb Application, Miscellaneous" page?

MAC addresses are the only way a physical device can be identified on a network. There's no other way.

The Client dropdown gives you a list of all your devices by their current IP as well as their hostname - it can hardly be made any easier. The MAC gets automatically filled in for you when you select a device, so I'm not sure what you are referring to.

That would require too many changes to the Parental control webui.

Thanks, I just deleted and recreated my entries and now have device names - for some reason I previously had only MAC addresses in the Client Name field.

As for the time profiles, it was just a nice to have and no problem.

I checked my disk and nothing has changed ( it still has the old label etc). On 25b the disk would show up with its name, and on 26 it is showing up as sda1 when mounted.

Even the AiCloud app on my phone and tablet is showing the disk as sda1 instead of its actual name.

Not really a major problem as the disk still works though

Same situation with me, I tried rebooting and that didn't help. Whats weird is that the network map shows the correct name and when I goto the Network Place,Samba Share in the USB application it shows as WD My_Passport 071A/sda1

Thanks. Took at look at the 346 beta that did install and the 352 that wouldn't and file size is different. I was unable to d/l the 352 from Asus' official site and grabbed it somewhere else. Appears to be a bit suspect.

I saw that the AC router is on the Asus' official site.

Thanks for the change to use the "Manually assigned IP's" client names in the logs, this is much appreciated. Nice usability feature.

Some Missing Traffic Data?

Anybody else not able to see any Per-device daily or monthly data? Since I've upgraded from .25b to .26, all of my Global Real-time, Last 24 Hours, Monthly and Per-device Real-time data is there, but when I select Per-device Daily or Monthly, the page takes a lot longer to load and comes up empty (under Traffic Manager -> Traffic Monitor). FYI: I'm storing usage data on a USB drive mounted as /mnt/sda1/data/ (under Tools -> Other Settings), and everything else mounted on that drive looks good.

I have uploaded Asus beta version 3.0.0.4.352 to my MediaFire account. Try this link:

http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?845ahf2t80aq238

That link should work fine as I just tried and verified it.

Now that you mention it, I went and looked at my Traffic Monitor data, and there's nothing happening there at all, all empty fields. I don't recall having to do anything before to enable this, so I'm pretty surprised to see nothing coming in for new (or old *smile*) "Real-time" data.

Maybe it's just me, I don't save data on a memory key or USB disk, just whatever the router currently has...nothing there, all blank, and no new data being collected.

???

Think they were on about a beta .352 version floating around for the RT-N66U.
I have the .352 beta for the N66U, but before I give it to anyone I would have to ask the person I got it from first. As I like to share only if the original source is okay with it.

I have the same problem with the USB hard drive, its a USB simple drive with 160Gb formated NTFS, reading the issues with teh .26 firmware I turned on the disk and it mounted on sdb1 when is was mounting with the name it was formated in the first place, later I turned it of, when I turned it on it was mounted on sdc1, I dont have the option of simpler share naming on and I have not tried it either because I did not need to ...

That would be nice, ask and see what they say.

Thanks

lil....

Understand completely. It is also most likely the case that in a few days it will be "officially" available as a beta on Asus' storage site.

Thanks for thinking of us.

I asked my source, and will let you guy's know something one way or another when i get an answer. Merlin sorry bout hijacking your thread in a way, as i know this doesn't relate to your release.

Maybe this was asked before but i missed it...

Merlin, why are you not posting these firmwares on your website (http://www.lostrealm.ca/tower/node)?

That one is still on the .24 release

A firmware release involves uploading 6 files to one site, posting on Twitter, this forum, two Asus forums... At this point, my personal website becomes secondary, and I'm gradually shifting the focus away from it. Just too many different places to update all at once.

What is your Save Location set to on the Tools -> Other Settings page?

Those with mounting issues, do you have spaces in your volume name? If yes, try renaming them to remove the space.
