This link in aimesh node (RT-AX86U) not working.

Works perfectly for me - on both RT-AX86U and on RT-AC5300 ?

RT-AC5300-Aimesh-Node.png

This on first aimesh node. Main router working fine.
Works on all three of mine - main router is RT-AX86U - 1st Node is RT-AX86U and 2nd Node is RT-AC5300

ok but you have 2nd nod RT-AC5300 I have 2nd nod RT-AC86U thats dfferent.
press F12 and read on konsol, icon address.

Hello Dear RMerlin and all other forum participants!
I ask for me to forgive me if something in my words will not be right, because I use Google translator.
I have long heard about this project and reading the positive feedbacks of the last pages, today for the first time I decided to update the firmware of my Wi-Fi router ASUS ROG RAPTURE GT-AC2900 from the factory firmware FW_GT_AC2900_3.0.0.4.386.45956 to 386.5_ALPHA2.
I used the standard update feature and also a standard reset with the check box after the update.
I received an increase in speed, on the eye, when loading the Internet pages, the ping in the games decreased and in the overall response of the Internet became noticeably faster!!!
Also in the new firmware there are many additional functions that are not in the standard firmware!
This is excellent and delightful!
I thank RMerlin and everyone who is involved in this project!
Live long and happily!
Thanks for your work!

Clean load of alpha 2 on AXE11000
factory version -> Merlin version -> factory default and wipe jffs -> configure by hand

Only thing I am running into is the log file getting spammed with events from hostapd.

Code:

I am guessing eth6 is one of the wireless interfaces and something is being an butt connecting or whatever.
Going to wrangle it in with scribe later.

AX58U's and AC68U all updated seems good so far.

Done 3rd reboot to the whole system 7 hours later than second one, seems back up easily.
Seems were some bugs because moving from an Alpha version to another
From your experience, how long from this step to a stable release?
so far the experience with this release, it is way way better than 386.4, I guess because of new Wireless drivers.

I have few friends who want to upgrade, but no into a debugging version, but to a stable one

But the real issue is the impact Cake has of slowing LAN transfers to and from my NAS, and why this occurs on the AX86U and not the AC86U.
It can’t really be CAKE itself, since CAKE is only working on the WAN interface. But maybe the requirement to disable HW acceleration is impacting the LAN to LAN traffic. You can try enabling it manually to see if it restores the LAN throughput. But it’s not a solution, since CAKE won’t work properly with HW acceleration enabled.
Code:
fc config --hw-accel 1
archerctl sysport_tm disable
fc enable
fc flush
To reverse all that:
Code:
fc config --hw-accel 0
archerctl sysport_tm enable
fc disable
fc flush
Or reboot the router to revert the commands.

AC86U - did a dirty upgrade (Just unmounted the USB) from 386.4, all OK so far but I noticed some entries missing from the syslog during start up.

In particular, I didn't see the messages from YazFi starting up, just the final "YazFi v4.4.1 completed successfully" - They are in the syslog on the router, but didn't get sent to my syslog server (on a Raspi).

I see in the changelog there was some work involving the syslog at startup, so I guess that's the explanation.

Will see if this improves the connectivity of my IoT stuff. Like many, I was having problems with frequent disconnects on some devices.

Adaptive QOS does not throttle LAN to LAN transfers only cake and traditional, the thing is though cake work best for my connection, gives me A+.

Adaptive somethimes give me B or A depending on the test run with bufferbloat, but Cake always give me A+ on my 50 DL and10 UL. But the real issue is the impact Cake has of slowing LAN transfers to and from my NAS, and why this occurs on the AX86U and not the AC86U.
Oh right (I had me a simple moment) Corect, QoS does NOT impact (LAN<->LAN) transfers sorry, but if you Enable CAKE it has to disable HW acceleration right? You can easily check via... TOOLS> SYSTEM> NETWORK> HW acceleration. For CAKE to function... the Router CPU needs to process the network packets & you loose HW acceleration (Which reduces network speed).

I am planning on upgrading to alpha 2 this weekend. But before i do, i have 3 questions:
1. I know alphas are test versions. However are these full functioning? I assume yes.
2. Am i correct that when doing a dirty upgrade that I should unmount the usb and uninstall skynet ...do the upgrade...reboot...remount usb and reinstall sky net ? Or is this not necessary?
3. Is there a reason why dnsmasq was reverted back to 2.85 ?

Hope you didn't loose too much sleep.
From experience...
Many manufacturers use sub-companies for WiFi chips & technologies.
Especially with newer wifi 6 stuff
In your case, I'd almost bet...
FoxCon=Sony Playstation-5
Hon Hai Precision Ind. Co.,Ltd. = Samsung Sx??? (Less certain of this one)

This alpha has been pretty solid from the start.
You simply need to unmount the USB - before you flash ... no need to uninstall Skynet [or anything else for that matter].
Give it a whirl - I'm sure you'll enjoy.
3- latest dnsmasq has bugs - so reverted
