Asus RT-AC1750 B1 Merlin install

Just bought this router today for OpenVPN but found it didn't offer all the functionality I wanted after setting it up.

Merlin adds that functionality but before I install I wanted to confirm:

For this version of the AC1750, I use the merlin files from AC68U? The box indicates it is an RT-AC1750 B1. Hardware version B2.

My router is on stock firmware v384.

Is it OK to flash v380 or v382 of the modified firmware?

You can, but make sure you restore to factory default after you flash Merlin:

Bringing an old thread back! I have the same thing as Steve_D going on with my ASUS RT-AC1750 B1 needing the Merlin build to accept the openVPN setup from my VPN provider.
Could someone tell me which Merlin version would be ideal and more likely stable as of today for this particular router?

Some have reported issues with Aiprotection but I haven't on the AC66U_B1.
