What about those log entries about
"received packet with own address on eth1 interface" ?
On this interface i have my desktop which does not have any wifi capabilities whatsoever.
You can't have your non-wifi desktop on eth1 because eth1 is the 2.4GHz wifi interface. The wired LAN ports are on vlan1 and connected to br0.

Wifi signal 2.4ghz is very low like 376.44 i back to 374.43 build. In my brother room laptop show only 3 bars.374.43 build show all 5 bars.Symbian phone show only about 30% signal. With 374.43 build symbian show about 70% signal.Very bad signal quality with latest builds.Rmerlin please return tx power settings in numbers. Please remove tx power percentages selection.Rmerlin very please.Only with tx power setup with numbers i have very strong wifi signal.

You will be running with known exploits in your firmware if you use 374.43. Good luck with that

Ookkay... i stand corrected. Always thought that eth1 is the first LAN port...
Then eth2 would be a 5GHz radio?
And these messages happen because i have the same name on SSID for both frequencies?

What router are you referring to N66U ?

Correct
And these messages happen because i have the same name on SSID for both frequencies?
Yes, that sounds likely. Basically it is saying that traffic coming from a device that is associated with one interface (say the 5GHz adapter) has just appeared on a different interface (say the 2.4GHz adapter).

I have a access point in a remote part of my house connected back to the router (both with the same SSID). When I walk through the house with a mobile phone (wifi enabled), that message will appear as the phone switches between the access point and the router.

So at the end of the day, the message is not an error, it's just information.:)

USB drive no spindown on 44 AC68U Seagate 4TB

Does anybody have ntfs hdd spindown with latest 44, 45 fw?

I had to revert back to 43 from 44. Has anyone got USB 3.0 hdd spindown to work on 45? Have not tried this version yet.

I have GUI problems only when I change the default LAN IP from 192.168.1.1

I still don't know why.

-supe

Drat. I had high hopes for that because I've always preferred 192.168.0.1, for reasons I no longer remember.

I've switched back to the default 192.168.1.1 and rebooted everything.

The router pages still hang for me. It takes about 5-10 clicks on buttons before it happens. Which buttons doesn't seem to matter.

I'm on 43.

Bruce.

I have an RT-AC68U.

Two bugs I noticed with 3.0.0.4.376.44_0 and now 3.0.0.4.376.45_0:
1) Under "General", clicking "USB Application" causes "Updating..." to just stay on the screen (and never goes away). If I click "Cancel", then it changes to "Loading APP List" and shows all the options.

2)
Go to "General" -> "Network Map", then click the USB 3.0 icon to view my HDD. Under "Disk Utility" then "Schedule Disk Scan", no matter what I put there, it never saves. It changes back to Frequency: Disable.

Are those known issues?

Also, what is the recommended file system for the external hard drive? I had issues with FAT32, but NTFS seems stable. Would ext4 be better?

My scheduled scan also reverts to "Disable", going back as far as I can remember with this router. I'm using ext4 on my drive.

Ok so I have flashed this firmware in hopes of fixing my RT-AC66R (bestbuy version )

anyway as I posted in another section, I keep having intermittent drops, in well everything, and cant get it pin pointed...

in fact when I was on the phone with comcast the freaking modem reset right when i was on the phone with them, and I asked her if they sent a signal to it, she said no....

And then proceeded to ask if i would reset my router, told her i had reset this stupid router, more times then the hair on my head... And asked her if there was anyway the router could reset the modem??? Because if its on the back side it cant............RIGHT????

Any way, I am trying this as another shot at isolating the problem....

to further explain...have had this router since Jan 1....it has worked fine until 1st part of July (right around 6 mths, which i had 2 others do the same thing in the same time frame).....

I asked my computer guy about it, and he pointed to the fact maybe i had to many devices coming through the 1 channel..(2.4), and that i should if possible move phones and/or tablets to the 5ghz, and to also set up a few guest accts, to help level out the data hose (my term)

what do you guys think of that??

Ok well it didnt hold.....ill post a copy of the log, as it just happened...and these 1st 4 lines, there was a string of stuff it was doing like it in the 20:50 range...anyway here it goes.....please tell me if i can fix it, am about :eek::eek: as can be on this

I'm not debating the bandwidth here but the write speed inconsistence between wireless and wired tests. Both the router and the AC7260 are clearly capable to transfer data at 35MB/s wireless...

Run an actual speed test using a tool such as Lanbench. Uplink and downlink speeds aren't necessarily the same, which would explain the speed difference.

Rmerlin please return tx power settings in numbers. Please remove tx power percentages selection.Rmerlin very please.Only with tx power setup with numbers i have very strong wifi signal.

Please read the explanations I've posted like dozens of times already.

Check your security software. Some of them like Eset have a hard time working properly with the router's UI. If you had whitelisted the old IP, then it would explain why issues would (re)appear once you change the router's IP.

Aug 20 21:22:25 WAN Connection: Ethernet link down.

Your problem is definitely the modem. First, you saw it reboot on its own. And second, even the router saw that it physically disappeared, as shown in the above log entry.
