this was what I posted and found
wl0: Feb 23 2015 05:53:16 version 7.14.89.21 (r524987)
I don't know yet what to type to find 5GHz version

UPDATE1:
update
I woke up this morning and found on my iphone IOS 8.1.3 latest , on 5GHz
I was connected but was getting no internet, I turned wifi of and then on (on the iphone) and worked but my ipad and other iphone was working so far, I have not experienced this on 01-20-2015-r25974/ build but after 4-5 days was gettings reboots on that build.

I'm on Merlin's .50 & iOS 8.1.3 and I'm also having the same issue.

When my 6 Plus wakes up from sleep mode and is connected to 5GHz (full bar), it has no Internet. I had to do the same thing you did, off & on wifi on the phone. No problem with 2.4GHz. iPad Air don't have such issue though.

There is a new dd-wrt build out today BUT it seems to have issues already, SO please stand by, I will test anyway tonight, Please wait for a stable build to come, I am posting my findings with each build (that I use).

Also the 2.4GHz ONLY would not start after a reboot but clicking apply fixed it, 5GHz Started fine before clicking apply.
Just a note: the wifi seems quicker to respond in this version than the last version.

They have change log but for developers. No point to post here.
The led indicator for 2.4Ghz can be fixed here "src/router/services/sysinit/sysinit-northstar.c". Raise a ticket or post it.

Saifooz,

Two more questions:

1 - I cannot get any higher connection than 433 connecting to my new macbook pro in A/C mode. I have 5.0 set up as A/C ONLY. (high/high 80)
On stock I connect at least 867. This is from within the DDWRT firmware I am getting the connection rate.

2 - I have a 2 TB HD, USB 3.0 connected into the router. D/L and U/L file transfer speed is 1/2 of stock Firmware. Any ideas why?
maybe a setting I am overlooking. Also on my OPPO 103 I see 3 entries of the files when I goto stream my Hi Def music. I will see 3 folders of video, audio and pictures. It always ends up to be the middle one that actually has any files. Any ideas on this?

Overall the router does run better on the DDWRT but these annoying problems make less ideal. This also includes the no light on the 2.4 ghz.

Sincerely
CC

OK will try that, can you try to d/l a file from the USB 3.0 port wirelessly and tell me your d/l and u/l rate.
For me Stock transferring to my Asus laptop (300 connection) I get 18 mbs down and 14 mbs up.
With DDWRT I get no more than 8 down and 4-5 up. Let me know what you get.

If you look at the screen where you see core temperatures you will see this build
thinks you have 3 radios!

In your opinion what is the best build to date with the new drivers? In the DDWRT thread
they mention the 138 version, of course we do not have that version available for the RT-AC87.
What are your thoughts?

I have noticed that for the past 3 or 4 builds, but it never bothered me.
I think this one is actually pretty good, the last 2-3 I had wifi errors at the start (though nothing bothersome), this one seems perfect.

Hows your 5GHz now, you at full speed?

Edit: did you notice a nice site survey in status then wireless, at the bottom?

Replaced with r26446

Just installed. So far so good. Wifi transfer speeds from USB 3.0 are just as good
as Asus firmware! Finally.

Had a few random reboots! Anyone else?

update: erased nvram - reflashed firmware - erased nvram again - manually put in all settings
NO more reboots
