Merlin on RT-AC68U not broadcasting 5GHz

I just bought a new Asus RT-AC68U and upgraded the stock firmware to the latest level, then upgraded to AsusWRT-Merlin 378.55_0. I also upgraded my older N66 to the same Merlin level (different version I guess, as checksums differ).

The 5GHz is broadcasting on the N66, but not the AC68? Same settings for SSID and password- simple alphanumeric.

I tried restarting, entering recovery, then restarting and a number of other suggestions from various forums that changed nothing. Does this hardware still ship with major issues?

Well, I misidentified the problem. It would appear that the band is broadcasting, because I can see it on a client (phone). However, it is not being displayed when using 'Site Survey' (although the 2.4 is displayed and the 5 from the other router is also displayed).

So not a real issue, just a bug in site survey I suppose.
