i have some components and some others to buy.
I want to build 8tb raidz2 array
Main use: multimedia save and streaming and backup of 3 computers at home.
What i have is:
Amd athlon ii 250- cpu
i have a mobo taken out of hp 3005mt which has one pci-e slot and 1x16 pciexp slot. The motherboard is compatible to above cpu and i can use it if i can.
I have 8gb ram
430w psu
2x2tb samsung hdd and planning to buy 4 more will do mix and match for less chance of failure
I am planning to buy intel NIC
will do Fractal mid or full case- atleast 6 hdd if not 10
Also will buy Intel RAID Controller Card SATA/SAS PCI-E x8 8internal ports (SASUC8I) if recommended.
I have looked at others setup and was wondering if i should start from scratch or use some stuff that i have.
