I've just bought 2 refurb rt-n66u's. One as a main router and one as a client bridge in the basement.

Should I expect comparable speeds with an rt-N66's in bridge mode as I would with an ea-n66?

Thanks

I have all 3 actually, I run merlin firmware the latest one 374.41

1 n66u is running as my router/ap
1 n66u is my bridge for my mediacenter. under administration change the mode to mediabridge. I chose to use the 5ghz band as it is not congested in my neighbourhood. The link speed is between 350-450mbs distance between them is about 40ft

the ean66 is on the 2nd floor above the bridge getting roughly the same speed.

Easily saturates my 50/50 fiber connection

Awesome thanks. I've had mine for a couple weeks and other than some iPad issues its working great. I'm not sure if it's a range issue or config issue bit maybe I'll have to check out merlin.

I run my iPads on the 5G band channel 40 on 40mhz for me seems to be the best in my area, I also read you can change the beacon interval (under the wireless professional tab) to 50 from 100 which should help with apple issues. I have not had to do this but a few people I know said it helped on their non asus routers.
