Hello,
I'm Horst from Germany. Sorry for my bad English.
I can translate it with Google.

I had a Linkysys WRT-54 GL and an extra ADSL modem.
It was so connected as shown in Fig.
mhr3.jpg

With the software I could DMT modem http://dmt.mhilfe.de/
Setting the query and whether it should be a stable and fast connection.
The DSL connection is very bad for me, so this trick.

Now I have the RT-N66U and wanted to connect this well as the old router, but I can then read the modem but I'm no longer on the internet (no connection in the router menu)

On the side I have http://dmt.mhilfe.de/#faq04 all housing types
tested. I can read the DSL modem but the router will not get Internet access.
I then connected the router normal so I'm coming back to the Internet. The DSL modem I can not read anymore.

Normal is From DSL Modem to WAN Port Router and then the Lan Port(Router) to the Switch. All PC are in the Switch connect.
I then tested with the routing rules but that does not work.
I am familiar with the routing is not enough.

Router ip 192.168.1.2
Computer ip 192.168.1.30-40 No DHCP

DSL modem ip 192.168.1.254

How can I auslessen the DSL modem?
Can someone help me?

An admin can change or customize the theme or.
I could not describe it better.

Thank You
Horst

Don't know if this matters, but why don't you plug the WAN-Connector of the Router directly into the modem? (without switch)

The switch would only be needed, if you want to connect more than 4 devices via lan.

Hello,
I've read a lot on the Internet.

The ip for the modem I have changed to 192.168.2.1!
For my old WRT-54GL I have now found this firewall entries
the work as well.
ip addr add 192.168.2.2/24 dev vlan1 brd +
iptables-I POSTROUTING-t nat-o vlan1-d 192.168.2.2/24-j MASQUERADE

Can I use it for the RT-N66U and the "Run CMD" type
or have to be adjusted?

Thanks Horst
