After installing this version, don't forget to do a factory reset.
Regarding the settings, do not reload an old back-up but use manual installation.

just an update on the initial problem. As the router was new and suddenly lost its wifi range both dramatically and without any firmware changes I sent the router back and got a replacement, and am very happy to say the replacement is working fantastically well. Worked fine with the firmware it came with, and fine too after upgrading to the latest (xxx.4561). I'm really pleased to have it working, as the features and GUI are fantastic on this router.

Thanks for all the help from everyone. Might even try Merlin's firmware when I pluck up the courage! Cheers, Simon
