Hi all,

my new provider will give me the modem/router W724.
Now the question is: do I really need to buy a router too? In my home I will have everything wired (except iPhone/iPad).

If I will buy a second router, where the port forwarding shall be done? On that router (connected to the Internet) or on my own router?

Thanks
Marco

Hi Marco. For starters, you should probably try the W724 out by itself (just curious, considering this is a Deutsche Telekom device, I'm assuming you're located somewhere in Europe?) If it does well enough at wired routing and access point duties, then you're probably all set. But if, for example, wireless signal is poor in some areas of your house, then perhaps a stronger access point or repeater will be needed... really too tough to say, though, without trying it out first, and reporting back.
