Hello,

It seems to me that ASUS RT-N66U router doesn't have enough security functions, such as ADT Blocker, Gateway Antivirus, Users/Groups Policy Management, Website filtering Schedule. Therefore I want to use it as wireless access point and connect its WAN port to an UTM router, such as WatchGuard Firebox T30.

I wonder if this configuration will work well. Thank you for your input.

Only connect to the WAN port if the firmware on the router allows you to convert the WAN port to a LAN port.

The problem with connecting to a WAN port AND using it as a WAN port is that by double NATing the N66U you could end up allowing connected users to bypass some or all of the security features you have enabled on the primary router.

There's an Access Point mode on the router, just switch it to that mode.
