[ROG RAPTURE GT-AX11000] Experiences & Discussion

Lol. Like you I’ve been down the Buggy Routers road many times. Still marvel at how bad ASUS is at software. I think by this time next year this router will by ready for non-debuggers to purchase. If we are lucky that is. Hang in their guys. We are counting on you to debug this beast!

[ROG RAPTURE GT-AX11000] Experiences & Discussion

Sooo, another go around with the buggy routers corporation. Lol. You guys must be crazy. After the fiasco of the GT5300 I’m surprised. I plan on giving ASUS routers a year or more before taking them seriously. They never have worked to spec. Never. Even after a year they remain buggy. Has...

Upgrades went smoothly and I'm impressed as I did not do a reset. Just did a upgrade from the UI and the manual upload to the node. We shall see if a reset is necessary. Would like to think it would just work. Everything is working as expected. :D

When you upgrade the GT do you also have to update the mesh node (AC88U in my case)? or does it propagate the upgrade automagically? And if you upgrade the mesh node do you also have to reset and re-pair as mesh node? OR? Thanks!

Interesting as this is whats on the Asus Website. Very confusing with all the differnt firmware versions in the wild. Yours is later than this from Version 3.0.0.4.384.20379 2018/02/1345.7 MBytes ASUS RT-AC88U Firmware version 3.0.0.4. 384.20379 Security fixed - Fixed KRACK vulnerabilities -...

I certainly hope you change your mind on supporting AiMesh. If only to stay relevant as the tech evolves.

That’s what I wanted to know. So they are not public betas.

I take it these are unofficial betas that people are running at their own risk?

Given the various issues with this router. “Working fine” does not convey much information. What is working now that was not before? Thanks!

Yes I did a factory reset orignally but perhaps I need to do over again. How does one update to 311 since its not on the website? When ever I go to the firmware page it starts downloading immediately. Goes through the download process and then returns to the main screeen with 308 in the Firmware...

My GT changed the default IP addresses to 192.168.50.x instead of the typical 192.168.1.x. Anyone know why they did that? Also whenever I go to firmware update it immediately starts to download something. After download the 308 is still shown. Anyone know whats happening?

Got the same msg with eth4! What’s up with that? Router seems to work but I have little confidence.
