Solved! I did a portscan, and found an unusual open port, wich i've opened some years ago, and forgot about. That was the one that was only open for https-traffic, so: i'm saved. Thanks for helping.

hi, Strange problem: I noticed that access to my AX-86u with latest Merlin firmware, was over http, not https. So: i changed that in the user interface to "https only". Now: i can't access the router anymore. Not on the 192.168.... adress, and not via router.asus.com. I get "Connection refused"...

Thanks Colin. Problem is, my router is not accessible anymore. The "instant guard" app says: "Router needs external ip-adress". How to configure that?

Hi all, I have a fiber-connection, with a Huawei XGS-Pon modem. The lan is connected to the Wan-port of my Asus RT-AX86U. My external ip-adress is 62.45.xxx.xxx But my Asus says the Wan-ip is 100.97.xx.xxx The Huawei fiber-modem should bridge it to the Asus, because it has no dns-server. What...

You answer, was the solution. I was tricked by an explanation on the Asus-website, that stated that i HAD to turn dual-wan on. After switching it off, and selecting the 2.5g-Wan port, it all works. Thanks!

True. But my thoughts were: If the settings caused the issue, i would know soon after the upload of the settings. And if they did: i would start from scratch. But....i have SO much settings, passwords, VPN, names connected to almost 100 mac-adresses, etc. Not much fun to enter all those...

Thanks all. Did factory reset (WPS + Power on, etc.) Formatted jffs. Upgraded to latest Alpha Restored settings. Working again. Thank you all again.
