Using existing old COAX wiring for PoE Security camera

Could you share which adapters are they exactly? I haven't seen anything online that matches such description.

Using existing old COAX wiring for PoE Security camera

Thanks, so I need TWO MoCa units, right? If so, would it pass PoE? If not, I guess one other option is to just route the data, and when it comes out as ethernet, put a PoE switch there to give it enough power for the camera.

Using existing old COAX wiring for PoE Security camera

Hi, In our new home, we have an OLD security camera system which used COAX for analog video, and the wiring exists which I wanna convert to PoE. In particular, I wanna do the following: - Coax wire going from inside the garage to the outside front door old security camera - Replace old...

Can only sustain 1gbps for a while - then Ethernet driver drops it to 100

OK, yes I got those on Amazon, supposedly high quality and relative popular brand on the site (UGreen)... guess have to do even better. I wish we had branded ones made by Netgear, Cisco, etc... at least verified by them so we can rely on.

Can only sustain 1gbps for a while - then Ethernet driver drops it to 100

My Netgear switch does have different LEDs and all my cables apart from one, show Green for 1gbps, BUT a cpl of them do NOT maintain the speed on my network card, unless I add a switch in between (see above).

Can only sustain 1gbps for a while - then Ethernet driver drops it to 100

Thanks guys... so, I've tried the following: 1. CAT 7 cable (good rated on Amazon) Now, PC maintains Gbps MOST of the time, BUT eventually it drops itself down to 100mbps... 2. Got a Netgear 5-port switch, it sits between wall socket and my PC. Connecting with the same ethernet cable as Case #1...

Can only sustain 1gbps for a while - then Ethernet driver drops it to 100

Thanks, it would be hard to do, but I can try with my laptop as a start. Re-wiring, probably not possible without cutting a lot of my walls as it's a condo and not easily to do!

Can only sustain 1gbps for a while - then Ethernet driver drops it to 100

Thanks, I guess if that solves the issue (have to test), wouldn't solve my problem which is ideal server location. Good advice though, I can try and see.

Can only sustain 1gbps for a while - then Ethernet driver drops it to 100

Hi all, I have a pre-wired home with CAT 5E cable, it's a condo, so runs are very short, I assume max 20-30 feet per run from my media box to rooms in the condo. Setup is, Router with 1gbps 5-port, feeding 3 ports around the house, 1 device is 100 (cable box), my other two are 1gbps. What I'd...

How do I do that? Change the firmware? Is it as good?

Best Router for Apartment (fighting with other Wifi), plus specific needs below

Thanks guys, a few clarifications... 1. I cannot switch smart TV to 5GHz, as my TV doesn't do 5GHz 2. Interestingly, the in the farthest room with smartTV, while 2.4GHz is a bit weak, the 5GHz is WEAKER, like most devices pick the 2.4 over 5 when both available 3. I am using as much ethernet as...

Asus AC-86U looks like a great option, BUT it doesn't seem to be wall mountable! :( I hate the stupid new design of these routers...

Best Router for Apartment (fighting with other Wifi), plus specific needs below

Hi all, I live in a large 1300sq feet apartment, with limitation on placing the router. I now have an Asus AC66 which was the top of the charts a cpl of years ago when I bought it, and has been doing OK, with Merlin Firmware, BUT I am lacking networking throughput of latest routers, some...

Improving performance of RT-N66U... what are my options?

Thanks. Yes. I'm seeing a lot of discussions around issues with AC-87U. A perfect mid range router seems to be the 68U but that can't me mounted on the wall. The AC3200 and others are just overkill for me.

Improving performance of RT-N66U... what are my options?

I don't need anything more than 87U. Has the issues with that been resolved? The reviews are just not very good saying that 5GHz connections drop frequently.
