I had a RT-AC86U as well. (I have never used Merlin)
I ended up replacing it with a TP-link BE9300. It is my first TP-link device. Have had it for like 6months now, so far I have been rather happy with it.
Thanks for the info. My parents and I are currently using the N66U. I am going to upgrade myself to the AX86U for my apartment. And I am upgrading my parents to the AX68U.

Do you think of your DS918+ 6 months later? I have been thinking about picked one up. I want to upgrade for my DS213J (want more drive spaces and maybe play around with a Plex media server)

@thiggins I should really keep my add blocking on my computer at work since it in a sensitive environment.. That is also why I was trying to donate/pateron to alleviate some of my guilt.
