RT-AC86U - Enable efficient multicast forwarding (IGMP Snooping)

Please report back if you find a solution to enabling the IGMP stuff. I still can't understand if it's a real hardware limitation or just a software problem because this routers uses a new hardware with different config files from before. I'm on VODAFONE but the problem is the same.

    RT-AC86U Merlin IGMP Snooping mcpd.conf

The problem is that if you enable the ISP profile (vlan tagging) then multicast routing is turned off on the RT-AC86U. I need both things to be working so that my local IPTV works properly and my doubt is using the conf file to configure it directly to see if that works, because the WEBUI limits...

    RT-AC86U Merlin IGMP Snooping mcpd.conf

Did you find out anything about IGMP proxy on the AC86U? is it an hardware limitation or just nobody figured out how to configure the conf file?

RT-AC86U - Enable efficient multicast forwarding (IGMP Snooping)

for my local IPTV setup to work (vodafone portugal with old tvbox) I really need to enable IGMP snooping. Is there any way asus or merlin software added that or it's just impossible because it's an hardware limitation? (my tv box works but some special apps like netflix require IGMP...

    ASUS RT-AC86U or Asus RT-AC1900U (AC68U B1)

another very small detail is that one is a 'vertical' router and another an "horizontal" one. Does that make significant difference? I only had horizontal routers before so I don't know if a vertical form factor is actually better to keep things tidy or worse.

    ASUS RT-AC86U or Asus RT-AC1900U (AC68U B1)

Thank you very much, that is also a bit of my reasoning, although the media share of C7 wasn't working and I imagine that takes a bit of resources to run properly. AC66U_B1 is actually more expensive here, around 100€ so I would always get the AC1900U but I think that's fine because it's the...

    ASUS RT-AC86U or Asus RT-AC1900U (AC68U B1)

Trying to replace a dead Archer C7 and I narrowed it down to these 2: - AC86U - 139€ - AC1900U - 88€ Wishlist: stable, reliable custom firmwares available allow VLAN tag / IPTV (need to replace my ISP router) USB ports (usb speed not very important because I'm gonna use slow usb pen drives)...

How bad are the AC86U 2.4Ghz issues?

Digging this up to ask if 2020 builds have any better feedback in terms of the problems being solved?

Stable router around 100€ supporting VLAN tagging/IPTV, media share (upnp/dlna) and usb ports

I've been using an Archer C7 v2 that now died during firmware upgrade and I'm looking for a replacement. To be honest, I was happy with the C7 except the DLNA server worked very poorly since many times it didn't index the media files or stopped working altogether. So here's my wishlist: most...
