Hi
I'm looking for switch that can handle 2.5G. It can be 10G overall but has to be able to properly handle 2.5G because that's what my home network will be. It can also be hybrid, where some ports are 1G but I need at least two to be 2.5G+. I prefer it to be unmanaged because I won't gain...
Hi
Some time ago I wanted to buy a router but talking with you made me realize that having my own setup would have some interesting advantages. A little bit of time has passed and now, after reading some manuals, watching some guides and such (still noob though ;)) I'm starting to look for...
Yes, that's true. I wasn't clear enough - your focus is on the hardware here and I was looking at what internet providers will probably have in the near future (I'm still waiting for fibre to get into my home...) and put it against my wallet.
I agree - having more dedicated components gives...
This router is the max my budget can handle and I thought it is good. I didn't find anything better. (on paper that is)
Yes, I wanted opinions like that because that gives me some idea of how to look at something I want to buy.
I get your idea but you're talking of technical aspect of multi-gig...
Because I need one right now and not in whenever new version become available and then drop the price from the 'new item' level. Also WiFi is something secondary for me actually. So it is downside but not a deal breaker.
Second reason is to find out is there something specific that I should...
With this deceitful title I'd like you to tell me what do you think are the reasons I shouldn't buy Asus GT-AX11000. I've already asked about 'vs' in other thread and even though there was only one response, I've manage to choose.
But because of the price I still hesitate so I was wondering if...
Oh, I didn't know that Merlin won't support this series...that's a bummer. :(
Yeah, I've read somewhere that Netgear firmware has its issues...And you're only confirming that.
Oh man, I so don't like TP-Link name. I think it's because 'TP' part reminds me of this one company in Poland that had...
Hi
I had Asus AC66U for about 10 years but it simply died. Why? Have no idea. I did tried to revive it (like I did couple of times already) but I failed. So I have to buy new piece of hardware.
I have only few major features that router has to fulfil:
Link aggregation.
At least 2.5Gbit port for...
Thanks for your replies. Interesting things you've said. I forgot to mention that my WiFi card is connected on 5GHz and beside my phone there is nothing around at that frequency and channel I've chosen. But the 2.4GHz is still on so that could still cause problems.
I have to check if there's a...
Hi
I'm not sure when this started (probably long ago) but I've noticed huge ping spikes on my wi-fi connection (BCM4352 Azurewave AW-CE123H). I pinged my router (Asus RT-AC66U) and results were weird - most of the time there was 1ms but from time to time it go up to 40-60ms for one or two...
Ok...that's weird. Leaving it for couple of hours did help somehow and recovery software manage to detect it and restore firmware to its former glory.
Now if only I could find out why WAN won't work. Each cable is connected as usual, configuration is on auto and yet there is no connection to...
Version is correct.
I tried IE instead of FF. They're was no "connection resets" message but after a short while browser was redirected to /f2.htm with message that this page can't displayed. LED is sill flashing slowly...but I can't get to upload form again. Should I wait? Is there chance that...
Hi
I have big problem after trying to update firmware from 376.49 to 378.51_beta1.
At first everything looked as usual - I've choose new .trx file and upload it with web GUI. Waited some time for the progress bar to fill up and then I tried to hard reboot. But router didn't respond after. All...
Update - the problem suddenly disappeared...I mean, it was there in the morning but after failed attempt to configure DualWAN I turn it off, made reboot and it works from that time (over 40h).
I have no idea what was that...and I really hope it will not come back.
