    AiMesh Node Switch Ports

Wow. That's interesting. I tried configuring (initializing/setting up) mine AImesh node about 25' from the router and it failed twice. I tried it 5' from the AiMesh router and no problems. I guess this is a true case of your mileage may vary. I have a GT-AC5300 as my AiMesh node and a...

    AiMesh Node Switch Ports

The process of adding the AiMesh node (by ensuring it is factory reset, placed within 10 feet of the AiMesh router, and then "configured") to the AiMesh router is what I call configuring the AiMesh node. Are you actually using switch ports on an AiMesh node?

    AiMesh Node Switch Ports

I did the reset prior to the configuration as an AI mesh node. I switched the devices to use wireless, since the node is right there anyway, I'm comfortable with the bandwidth and latency differences (very little in practical terms). But glad you confirmed that it should have worked.

    AiMesh Node Switch Ports

I have set up AiMesh on a GT-AXE11000 as the Mesh Router and a GT-AC5300 as a Mesh Node. I tried plugging some TV STB devices (FireTV, AppleTV, and Xbox) into the AC5300, but it doesn't appear the switch ports work on the AC5300 (when in Mesh Node mode?). The AC5300 is using ethernet backhaul...

ASUS AX11000 - Wifi Site Survey

This only recently started happening for me too.... it happens on the 5 AND 6 gHz channels, but the 2.4 continues to operate as it always has.

    Release Asus GT-AXE 11000 New firmware Version 3.0.0.4.386.45850 9/30/2021

This is helpful. A couple of clarifying questions if you don’t mind: 1. Is the full factory reset of the mesh node or the primary node? 2. After the mesh node is configured, do I connect the WAN port of the mesh node to a switch port on the primary node? thanks

    Release Asus GT-AXE 11000 New firmware Version 3.0.0.4.386.45850 9/30/2021

Is this still running well for you? I just upgraded today. I was having a bit of an issue with 43986. I would find myself running into occasional WAN drops because of what I assumed was a memory leak. I hope whatever was causing my problem has since been resolved. Out of curiosity, what steps...

    ROG Rapture GT-AC5300 (Owners)

Is anyone on 70116 in the US? Has the firmware been pulled? I don't see it on the website or through the web console of the router.

There is stock DDNS functionality on the router. Select WAN from the left menu bar, and then select the DDNS tab. There are quite a few DDNS providers to choose from (dyndns, google, NO-IP, etc). And ASUS even provides the service for free with a built in Let's Encrypt cert.

Do you have any other device on which to try this (laptop, phone, tablet)? Have you looked at the system log when you shut off the Blu-ray player to see if there are any errors?

Do you know if you router rebooted in between the time it was working and then not working for you? That used to be an issue that I had. Also, can you check the IP address assigned to your Blu-ray player (from the player itself) to make sure it matches the IP address the Rapture expects for...

Are you using the "band steering" functionality of the router with SmartConnect? Can you share the information from the system log around the times of the reboots?

Nice review of multiple ASUS routers, including the Rapture: https://techreport.com/review/34005/asus-rog-rapture-blue-cave-and-lyra-trio-wireless-routers-reviewed

Marin, Congrats on working this through! It's grueling, but I hope you feel it was worth it. For what it is worth, you really shouldn't have had to do step #1. You must, however, assign a static IP address to any exception device. When you set the static IP address using the router (as opposed...
