    RT-AC86U 2.4Ghz Can't connect to this network

I’m noticing the same issue after updating my 3100 to .18. Restarting the router fixes it for a little bit, but then the same thing starts appearing in the logs after an hour or so and both wireless and wired connections begin to drop. Had no issues with .17 at all, will like roll back to that.

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.16 (and 384.13_6) are now available

Thank you Merlin!! Question for anyone who may know - is it still a good idea to have the 2.4 and 5 networks SSIDs/names be different? Or is that an old-school thing that’s not needed anymore? My router: AC-3100

    No More Social Media

Minor error, but the second sentence: "We was never active on any of these networks"

    2.4 Network Slow/Unresponsive

    Good to know, thank you!

    2.4 Network Slow/Unresponsive

Sigh - that's what I figured. It's confusing, only because I feel like I read a lot "leave settings at default for best results" on this forum, but I notice things like beam-forming and MIMO enabled by default on the 2.4 band, 20/40 set to auto, etc. In any case, I went ahead and changed...

    2.4 Network Slow/Unresponsive

I just flashed my AC-3100 to 384.7_2 (including restoring/initializing all settings and doing a hard reset before manually setting all my settings up again). I don’t have any weird settings enabled or VNPs setup, etc. just standard stuff. Any device that connects to the 2.4 GHz WiFi network is...

weaker wifi signal since upgrade to Asus Merlin 384.5

I've experienced wifi issues on my AC-3100 with every branch of 384. I never had any issues with the 380 branch either, which is the strangest part. On the 384 branch, Wifi would constantly drop out after 5 or so hours. But even logging on to the device itself was difficult (it would be very...

[Preview] Early Asuswrt-Merlin 384.6 test builds are available

Correct, disabled all the usual suspects (airtime fairness, beam forming, etc.). I always factory reset after any firmware change (regardless of upgrading or downgrading). Thank you for the suggestions though. Very excited to hear this new build is working well for a lot of people, can't wait to...

[Preview] Early Asuswrt-Merlin 384.6 test builds are available

AC3100 here. I've had nothing but issues with the 384 branch since day 1 (not blaming Merlin at all for this of course, I have no doubt it's an ASUS-related thing). My AC3100 has always ran flawlessly on any of the 380 builds though. With all the 384 builds, everything works fine for about 6...

    [Release 384/NG] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.5 is now available

Sounds similar to the issues I was having on my AC3100 a couple versions of 384 ago (haven’t tried the new one yet). 2.4 network would work great for ~2-6 hours after a reboot, and then immediately begin dropping every 30 seconds. One may suggest to move devices to the 5 GHz network, but this...

Any known issues regarding AC2900/RT-AC86U 2.4 GHz radio malfunction?

Now I'm wondering if I've been doing it wrong as well. I've always updated the firmware, reboot, and then do a factory default/reset, reboot again, and then manually set everything up again.

Any known issues regarding AC2900/RT-AC86U 2.4 GHz radio malfunction?

Thank you for your updates! I have been putting off updating my AC3100 to 384.5 due to having issues in the past with this problem. Hopefully things will be different this time around.

Any known issues regarding AC2900/RT-AC86U 2.4 GHz radio malfunction?

AC-3100 here, I came across this same issue running previous versions of the 384 firmware. Haven't tried any builds in the past month or two, but everything runs rock solid on the older 380 firmware. Glad to see I'm not alone in this problem. Same issue though - after a few hours, the 2.4 band...
