I am having a weird issue... every so often my internet cuts out... i dont think its my end... but i have a non centurylink bonded pair modem... a Zyxel VMG4005-B50B which as next to no documentation ... i got it about 2 years ago... and at the same time i got that i also got the internal wiring...
Hmm that looks like your using a cable modem.... And just like my cable setup before I switched to DSL I could also access x.x.100.1 modem page and the x.x.1.1
If I remember correctly the cable modems always have a very small DHCP server running even if your router has one running as well...
how do you have your system setup? as i said i have my modem in bridging mode and the router handles the ppoe settings... and if i remember correctly the modem disabled the internal DHCP server in that mode... as a result i can not just type in 192.168.0.1 and it will go to the century link...

this was all on my 5Ghz network... which is really bad... so i factory reset stuff and it works like it should now but now i want a good way to setup remote access but not use the built in remote admin options... as that is really insecure and i noticed that i was getting a lot of RU and other...
so i am having an issue where the wifi is way to slow after the update... and i want to know if a factory reset will help as i have not reset in the last 5 or so updates... i dont want to reset just cause i have a lot of configs like ddns and wan access and the smb service with 5 users all setup...
i am not able to update to the new firmware... i try and it reboots but it didn't stick.... i am wondering if anyone else is having this issue. if possible i would like some help... i can get logs if needed (i dont know how to get them right now... but i can look into it)
i have an issue with the 5Ghz being half my full connection speed and its unstable. it was able to get my full speed and had no stability issues...
that being said. the 2.4 Ghz is working amazingly... but with my usb drive being used for storing movies and music i want to use the 5Ghz...
so i am wanting to get a new router to get some kind of CFW to allow me to manage individual mac addresses and put a label to them.... so i can easily block them, id like to limit the bandwidth using the same type of process with groups or something....... i am having other people help pay for...
