Router Firmware that saves multiple SSIDs for Bridge Mode

Not really related. But lets say you use a router in Bridge Mode for a PC that you take with you. Your Phone or Windows does save all the SSIDs/passwords and you can set if it should connect automatically or not. There are this GL.iNet routers. How do they work? Do you need to type in the...

    2x2 ax vs 4x4 ac

I see people buying 2x2 ax devices. Is there something i overlook? Why would somebody pick a more expensive 2x2 ax instead of a cheaper 3x3 or 4x4 ac router/AP? Especially since there are not many WiFi 6 clients...

Ubiquiti passive PoE Adapters - 100 or 1000 Mbps?

I already wrote the APs have 1GB NICs. But passive normally is only 100 because the power is transferred over the free cables that are not in use on fast Ethernet. If you can only power the AP over the NIC and there adapters are not special then the 1GB NIC is useless and i have a 450/867 Mbps...

Ubiquiti passive PoE Adapters - 100 or 1000 Mbps?

I want to buy a Ubiquiti AP and need to decide between the UAP-AC-LR and UAP-AC-PRO. The LR is 24V Passive PoE but has a 1GB NIC? Are the Ubiquiti adapters some kind of special or does it mean i only have a Fast Ethernet connection to my switch? The LR is cheaper uses less power and i like the...

    First managed switch (ZyXEL GS1900-24E)

I can not delete the user "admin" but i can set the privileges from "admin" to "user". This is what makes me wonder if link aggregation will work: http://serverfault.com/a/404418 But maybe i'm not getting it right and this LACP thing has nothing to do with the link aggregation.

    First managed switch (ZyXEL GS1900-24E)

Some benefits setting this for a home network? I know the switch has link aggregation because thats the reason i bought it. But i did read somewhere that this does not mean you can do it between two switches. Sure but i wonder there is always a user "admin"

SquidGuard & ClamAV for protection really useful?

I run pfSense and have SquidGuard & ClamAV setup but don't know if it really makes sense. I think Adblock Plus is better because some sites don't work if you block the ad's and it's easier to temporarily disable Adblock in your browser. The reason for me to use ClamAV was that i want to...

    5GHz NA-Mixed?

I never was able to connect my fathers Lumia to the 11n and my fathers Motorola Xoom tablet did also not really work. I switched now from N-Only to NG-Mixed for 2.4GHz and NA-Mixed for 5GHz and now it works. Is there a reason that there is no NB-Mixed?

    5GHz NA-Mixed?

Ok, now i found it: http://dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/QCA_wireless_settings#Wireless_Network_Mode So mixed it is. Only wonder if the broken N-Only only applies to DD-WRT or to devices in general.
