Setting ASUS DSL-N17U and RT-AC68U in Bridge Mode

Oh, I set its wifi power to 10% :) So the range is very limited..

Setting ASUS DSL-N17U and RT-AC68U in Bridge Mode

Just plug in your laptop. But in the long run I found it's easier to just leave its Wi-Fi enabled so that I can access it from my laptop. That way you have an access point that cannot reach the internet but has the modem interface

Bubble upnp app and google home device

Hello I'm using bubble UPnP software on my phone with my Google home screen device. When the two are on the same access point I can cast fine to the Google home. However when they are on separate access points the bubbleupnp cannot see the Google home screen. The access points are all connected...

Might have to upgrade my VDSL2 modem..

You are right - but it's more difficult actually. We live in a development complex that has a basic electrician. The telecom refuses to enter the premises saying anything inside is the responsibility of the DC.

Might have to upgrade my VDSL2 modem..

Yes, the DSL-N17U's wifi is still on. I can connect to it (but no internet thru that of course), but I can check/configure the modem.. My current stats look like (if it's not legible; the full size is at https://www.kalfaoglu.com/modem.jpeg )

Might have to upgrade my VDSL2 modem..

Hi. With 20Mbit download (which is OK) but with only 0.9Mbit upload, I'm trying to find a solution. One was to replace my ASUS DSL-N17U in favor of something that might provide me with a better upload speed. Any ideas if there are any? Wifi doesn't matter as I have a CISCO 3925 that's keeping...

The most budget NAS .. here it is

Mine is similar -- I added passive radiator on the chips too, to cool them a bit better.. it's rock solid for months so far.

    What's wrong with my VDSL2?

Many thanks for all the feedback! Yes, I suspect I'm about a kilometer from the telecom box.. the telecom box is at the entrance of this development complex. Long wires from there reach my home, and this is what I got.. Unfortunately, there is no fiber coming so I can't do anything better...

The most budget NAS .. here it is

Get an Orange PI 3 LTS.. it comes with 2 USB 3.0 ports -- which you can add a USB (powered) hub too if you'd like. I have that Orange PI and it's sharing two drives.. Total cost? about $50 for the Orange PI plus the drives. I have Ubuntu on it, so it's doing SMB, NFS and Rsync daemon.. Very...

    What's wrong with my VDSL2?

I'm only getting 28MB down / 2.7MB up on my VDSL2.. So I queried my line.. and got a graph like this.. Does this look right, or should I tell someone to repair my line? I really don't know how a "good" graph should look.. Thanks, -t

Setting ASUS DSL-N17U and RT-AC68U in Bridge Mode

BTW, If you ever need to access the ASUS DSL-N17U in Bridged mode (like to see the line characteristics, etc), simply plug an ethernet to the 3rd port of the modem. It even still has a DHCP server running.. very convenient :)

Accessing Modem from LAN when in bridging mode

GOT IT -- simply plug an ethernet cable to the 3rd port on the back of the ASUS DSL-N17U modem.. It even has a DHCP still running in Bridge mode!

Accessing Modem from LAN when in bridging mode

Was there any solution to this? I set my N17U to bridge mode (NOT media bridge mode), and the CISCO router behind is it doing the PPPoE.. No problems.. But despite plugging in a LAN cable to another port of the N17U, and manually trying many IPs and routings, I can't reach the modem.. I tried...

    optimal pppoe options?

Googling I found that the smaller mtu is actually better because it fits without padding into atm frames
