Who does DualWAN load balancing + failover RIGHT?

Hello, Simple question: who is still doing DualWAN load balancing + failover Right? A few years back I bought an AX86U for its DualWAN "feature". I needn't say more. I have read about options from MikroTik, TP Link, Ubiquiti, etc. Some models appear to have been around for a decade. I'm...

2.5G, LAN aggregation, switch - oh my!

Cache pools are using SSDs for better throughput. "it depends on how the switch handles bundling of interfaces. There's 4 different modes of aggregation available and they all handle data differently." Thank you, THIS is what I now realize I need to focus on/research next.

2.5G, LAN aggregation, switch - oh my!

Home + business; on some days there will be more than one person working from here as well. Truth be told, there's nothing "wrong" with gigabit connections everywhere, it just so happens I'm finally installing my patch panel and plan to set up this 24 port managed switch so I thought I'd look...

2.5G, LAN aggregation, switch - oh my!

Thanks for sharing your experience. It is internal LAN speeds / overall bandwidth I'm looking to improve if I can. Basically, I have 3 servers in the works. Main, work and backup. I know the Asus manual says you can only aggregate 2x 1G ports: 1 & 2; you cannot aggregate more than that...

2.5G, LAN aggregation, switch - oh my!

Definitely < Gigabit. I live in the boons :) Thanks for the caution about not wasting too much time. I'm getting the sense that Asus tries to "tick all the boxes" from a marketing perspective but execution is lacking - is an ongoing trend with them. (I'm also trying to use load balancing for...

2.5G, LAN aggregation, switch - oh my!

My Asus AX86U has a 2.5G port and supports LAN aggregation My gigabit switch supports LACP I picked up a 2.5G network card to toy with My Unraid box and my desktop currently have 1G NICs. House is wired with CAT 6. I'm trying to wrap my head around the topology to maximize read/write between...

Does the Linksys SRW2024 still have legs?

Sure, but with the exception of the server upgrade I'm about to do, my house is still 1 gigabit so if it can serve that function... it seems to support link aggregation. I get that there's no support but IF it works like it's supposed to... I don't see the downside? I thought about security but...

Does the Linksys SRW2024 still have legs?

I picked one up at a yard sale a while back and it's been sitting on a shelf. Thought perhaps I should dust it off and see what it can do in my house. Currently I just have a bunch of 8-port gigabit unmanaged switches where I need them but it would be nice to centralize with this + patch panel...

How to let Devices see each other in Guest network?

What a prompt reply, thank you! Edit: After 2 attempts (one without =0 and one with) after a reboot the entry is persisting.

How to let Devices see each other in Guest network?

This was immensely helpful, thank you! I, however, managed to mess up the first time with a typo. (app instead of ap). So now there's an entry "wl0.1_app_isolate=0". Does anyone know how would I go about removing it? TIA

WAN instability on AC87U - Still life in 'er or is it time?

Just dirty flash, yes. The factory reset is what did it I believe as I haven't seen the issue since, not that I've spent much time in the logs. Well, 32GB of ram which is often mostly consumed. Trying to get them under control again but that takes time - something I don't currently have a lot...

WAN instability on AC87U - Still life in 'er or is it time?

Thanks for the reply. Time zone has been set in the Admin > System > Basic Config area. Just scrolled through the log and things seem OK now. I have also since reverted to the 2nd most recently firmware release as there were a ton of bugs for me in the most recent. Maybe that was one of them...

WAN instability on AC87U - Still life in 'er or is it time?

Thanks for the replies. Ok, so support is being dropped. Time to move on, I'll come to terms with that :) Anyone have any insight into the: Maximum number of concurrent DNS queries reached (max: 150) error I see on both my old AC87U and AX86U?

WAN instability on AC87U - Still life in 'er or is it time?

Now I've read somewhere else that Merlin firmware is dropping support for my old AC87U. Is that true?

WAN instability on AC87U - Still life in 'er or is it time?

Alright, I'm still getting dropouts with the AX-86U so... bought this router for nothing? Dec 5 10:14:39 pppd[32044]: Serial link appears to be disconnected. Dec 5 10:14:39 WAN Connection: Fail to connect with some issues. Dec 5 10:14:39 nat: apply redirect rules Dec 5 10:14:45...
