Note, there is a stability issue with 3.0.0.6.102_39112 for the BE86U, which I reported to ASUS support. Downgrading to 3.0.0.6.102_38984 resolved the issue for me. Merlin GPL shouldn't be directly compared to stock firmware as they are provided directly and the numbering is not directly comparable.

I am using as a node as well and with the new version the router will reboot periodically throughout the day.

I noticed that for the BE86U, the official ASUS firmware version 3.0.0.6.102_38984 came out after the current Merlin stable release (3006.102.5).

In the official ASUS notes, it says:



Does this mean we’ll need to do a full factory reset again once Merlin 3006.102.6 stable is released to accommodate for this?

the router has no boy scout mode, so it is up to you to "Be Prepared".

Try, try again. I did an update again and will test to see if it remains stable. Worst case, at least I could downgrade back to current stable while waiting for ASUS to provide a working GPL/wireless driver to get another Alpha release out for testing.

Tried again after a full reset with 3.0.0.6.102_39112 on the BE86U as an AiMesh node and rebooted randomly once already. Just loaded Alpha 1 to it and will monitor for stability.
