AC66U can't connect all devices

New Around Here
hello, forgive my ignorance as this is my first time posting. i just picked up an Asus AC66U router but i cannot connect several of my devices. My mac laptop, PC, iPhone5, HTC One, and sony blu ray player all connect just fine wirelessly. My sony TV, HP printer, and logitech tv-top skype cam will not connect at all. I tried each different version of the firmware on the asus website (currently have 3.0.0.4.354), factory resetting through the web applet, 30/30/30 reset, playing around with several settings (diff names for 2.4g/5g, disabling firewall, etc), but absolutely nothing will enable these 3 devices to connect wirelessly. they can all see the network on the scan list, but cannot connect. using an ethernet cable, they connect perfectly, but i have them in different rooms, so that is not really an option.

each device connected just fine with my old linksys wrt54g2 (and still does). can anyone offer any advice?

thank you

Just a guess, but how do you have the radio setup? (is it N-Only, legacy or auto). I had a similar situation when it was set to N-Only because some of my older devices are only G-capable.

One other odd thing I found with a couple of devices (even n-capable), if you are presenting the 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz radios with the same SSID, they can sometimes get confused. As a temporary test change the 5Ghz to have a unique name and see if that helps.

thanks for the tips. i have it set to "auto" for both 2.4ghz and 5ghz. i actually tried giving 2.4/5.0 differenent SSIDs, but the three devices in question couldn't connect to either ssid :(

Hi,
Tried only those not connecting all by itself one at a time? What symptom you get? Anything on syslog?

My only other thoughts on the 2.4GHz are to fix it at '20Mhz' - then as susggested, is there anything in the log to give any clues?

Hi,
Also do not use auto channel selection. After surveying your neighborhood with inSSIDer
pick a best channel. I never use auto channel select.
