AC68U - A couple questions concerning the client connection speeds

I just got the AC68U this week so I haven't really had time to really tinker with it to get set optimally for my network yet. I am currently on FW 3.0.0.4.374_583.

For the most part I am able to get 72Mbps/150mbps from most of my devices using N. My Xbox 360 Slim is proving to be the exception and I later found through the System Log/Wireless Log and also monitoring the traffic that it isn't going above 5.5Mbps on 802.11N. The odd thing is if I set 2.4Ghz band to legacy mode it connects just fine at 54Mbps.

Is this a firmware issue that needs to be resolved or issue with the adapter in the 360 slim not adhering to the 802.11N all that well?

When I was looking at the Wireless Log I would notice that some devices the TX rate would hit 150 Mbps during usage then drop to 1Mbps or 6Mbps during what I would assume to be an idle state. Is this normal for this particular router?

I personally would hard wire the 360 or if you have a old extra router laying around turn it into a wired access point for it. How is actually playing online games? Do you lag or anything or are you just obsessing over log numbers?

It plays fine online and is fine streaming SD video from netflix. The reason I even noticed the problem to begin with was when I tried to use WMC with it. I was able to use it perfectly fine with the WAP-54G I was using before. As far as the other questions, I might be agonizing a little bit.

I probably could connect the 360 directly to the wired Ethernet but it would be more convenient to keep it wireless based on where it is. I am just basically wanting a connection fast enough to stream content from my HTPC box like before.

Make sure you select the option to Optimize for xbox. There's a compatibility issue with the wifi interface used by the XBox and various Broadcom-based routers, this option disables one particular 802.11 feature that is causing the issue.

Is that feature buried some where in the 583 fw or is it added in one of the newer ones or custom firmware.

Xbox 360 have a lot of issues at the wireless interface. Development discontinued. Please use the wired Ethernet interface.

Wireless -> General, right next to Wireless Mode. On the 2.4 GHz band.
