:confused:Why is this router set at different permissions that my n66U and/or AC66U both on which I have had no problems creating directories or scripts. This router, however. wont let me do either. I keep getting "mkdir: can't create directory '/jffs/etc': Read-only file system" each time I try to "mkdir /jffs/etc" or "mkdir /jffs/configs"

I am not familiar with Linux to know what I need to do to get around this. Help

UPDATE: It appears that jffs is not being enabled or properly formatted. Rebooted 5 times now and the directory /jffs/configs does not appear. No idea what to do next.

So I decided to "downgrade" my FW from "3.0.0.4.374.39" to "3.0.0.4.374.35_4" andjffs partition was enabled first try. Was that just luck or is this an issue with .39 FW??

I now want to go back from 35_4 to .39. Can I just install it without doing a factory reset?

Did you check 'format on next boot' and then reboot the router?

I would not recommend upgrading (or downgrading, for that matter) firmware versions without doing a full reset.

You're just leaving the router in an unknown state with issues just waiting to happen.

You have to reboot it twice. For the first reboot check the 'format at boot' option. For the second reboot un-check the 'format at boot' option. The way I understand it, the first reboot creates/formats the partition. The second reboot enables it. So if you have the 'format at reboot' checked at every reboot it never gets enabled.

Well that would explain why 8 reboots did nothing :). I would reboot, noted that jffs was not enabled, checked format box, rebooted.. etc. Anyway, not sure why it worked once I downgrade the FW but I suspect it cause this time I rebooted WITHOUT the format box checked
