AC87U 384.13 DNS network monitoring

Frankster

New Around Here
My router, running 384.13 keeps on showing that the WAN was restored when monitoring through DNS query. Initially I thought this might be caused by Pihole, so moved all DNS to cloudflare. The log keeps on being filled with the same messages though. My home automation server also indicates that sometimes certain URLs cannot be reached. A continuous ping to the affected URLs from the same server however indicate that the target site is reachable. Normal browsing/Netflixing etc has never caused any issues.

What could be the issue here?

NOTE: inserted the log as an image as Cloudflare detected some malicious code in it...

are you running dns filtering?

it looks like your having some sort of dropouts, or dns issues try changing to open dns, in the router it self.

I was running DNS filtering on a raspberry PI. In order to check if that was causing the issues I removed it and changed everything to Cloudflare and Google DNS with, unfortunately, the same result of errors in the logs.

Which ping and resolve websites are used using in the time section as well as NTP servers?

The first NTP server is 0.nl.pool.ntp.org and the second one is time.nist.gov

I am pinging www.google.com and as resolve hostname I am currently using 1dot1dot1dot1.cloudflare-dns.com which should resolve to 1.1.1.1 or 1.0.0.1

Try using www.google.com as the resolve and the IP it gives after you ping it with command prompt,

For ping target use either
1dot1dot1dot1.cloudflare-dns.com
Or
www.google.com.nl

Try either

0.nl.pool.ntp.org
1.nl.pool.ntp.org

Or
nl.pool.ntp.org
time.nist.gov

And try open DNS for the DNS server
208.67.222.222
208.67.220.220

The next suggestion is to
Clone the wan Mac address of the ISP unit just I incase.
