AC88U problems with internal switch

The AC88U has 2 switches (4 ports per switch).

In recent firmwares i have the issue that the second switch controlling port 5-8 does not get ip addresses after the router has been running for a couple hours to a day.

Rebooting the router makes it work again until a couple hours to a day later when the devices connected to those ports start getting 169.254.x.x as an ip address

Any idea what i could do to fix this? or is this something in the firmware which Asus needs to fix?

Well known problem.

Have you tried completely powering off the router for 30 seconds?

Generally people only have the problem every few months, not few hours/days.
