Advice for Wireguard router

I think these forums are for getting optimum product for each use.

I know RT-AX88U PRO can do 300 Mb WIREGUARD, and, Of course. I can purchase this device... and I can purchase FIVE of these devices and put them as nodes

This is not a money question. This is a what is the device that can do the job. I need a bit more than 250 Mb WIREGUARD. I was asking what is the device can do this job. I do not need more in 24/7 working device.

These forums are for fine tune user experience, or perhaps would be better go directly to the sore and purchase the TOP ASUS router?

Entry level products is a relative question. Each product can do the job and sometimes "entryy level" product works better, because each syystem is a world. I had to throw away a TUF-AX6000 because burnt POE SPLITTER AND router himsef... Now, an "entry level" RT-AX57 do the job better, with much less POE demand, acting in AP mode. ENTRY LEVEL; but do the job better.

I am asking for a decice capable of more than 200 Mb in wireguard. I am looking for the machine capable of this. I do not need more.

TUF AX3000 V2 is not capable. Thank you

RT-AX59U / TUF4200 are capable? Nothing more.

As I said, I need just the device can do the job. 19V powered devices are not valid for me. I need 12V device just do the job. More than 12V/2A put in trouble my POE devices. So I was thinking in FILOCIG 830, a powerful and 12nm Soc, and was asking in devices based on this SoC can do the job.

OK this is what I need to know.

OpenVPN speed up to 190 Mbps; WireGuard® speed up to 900 Mbps

IF the model you say, with FILOGIC 830 can do this, then RT-AX59U / AX4200 too because wear same FILOGIC 830

Thank you

Not guaranteed, they run different firmware. If you want to experiment with OpenWrt - it's available.

OK but I think, after reading information you provided, RT-AX59U will do more than 250 Mb in WIREGUARD... RT-AX59U ORDERED.

... RT-AX59U received and working. Now WIREGUARD working like a flagship model.
This device is more powerful I could think.
As said, each model for each use...

Working Ok... traffic analyzer does not show real traffic. I download a large file from one site to other but traffic analyzer does see nothing...

I only get 550mbs on my GT-AX11000 using WG. I'm pretty sure my router has better hardware then that?

Sounds about right for this model. Broadcom BCM4908 CPU around 2016, the router was released in 2018. This makes it close to 10 years old hardware in 2026. You're happy flow cache bypass was implemented otherwise the use of WG would affect the entire network behind it including clients not using VPN.

Lol it does bro, I forgot to mention that. All VPN clients seem to get preferential treatment and can regularly hit about 600mb, non VPN clients regularly stay around 400mb - 500mb. As soon as I turn my VPN rules off, not even the VPN, all clients shoot up to around 750mb - 900mb.

I'm thinking to go to a mini pc for a VPN gateway, do you know a decent budget mini pc that would do the job or what spec to look out for? I don't want to spend too much as that is all it'll be used for.

Think twice.
