AiMesh issues RT-AX58U/ZenWifi XD4

When I first got this combo 5 months ago, everything seemed to be working fine. I had white lights on the XD4, indicating good signal. Something must have changed but I don't know what. I placed the nodes properly, but for a while now, all the nodes lights show yellow indicating weak signal. I've tried resetting the XD4 and no effect. Also running the latest firmware on the RT-AX58U.

Also the XD4 has not had any firmware updates since release?
